Just Arrived: New Balance
The original intention of the heritage footwear brand New Balance was to create premium arch and orthopedic footwear products. Established by William J. Riley in 1906, New Balance grew, eventually switching to footwear geared towards athletics. This occurred by 1960, and New Balance became well-versed in perfectly blending function and fashion into footwear. The brand’s lifestyle and leisure-like shoes didn’t make an appearance until the ‘90s, when the concept of ‘sneakerheads’ came to be in pop culture. New Balance is highly regarded for its optimal performance in technology in any style preference, such as models like the 990 and 992.
With that, New Balance introduces new arrivals of their signature silhouettes, such as the New Balance 650R. First introduced as a basketball sneaker in the late 1980s, the New Balance 650R makes an impression on any New Balance sneaker rotation. The streamlined sneaker features a classic leather upper paired with a puff and stitch collar. Embroidered branding is seen throughout, while the raw-edged leather weather eyebrow is placed, and the perforated leather overlays provide an additional dimension to the design. A rubber outsole underneath supports the remainder of the design.
The New Balance 9060 is also receiving a new iteration. Taking on a technological aesthetic, the sneaker features a suede upper and mesh accents that offer a dimensional touch. The pod-like midsole, ABZORB, SBS cushioning, and rubber outsole finish the rest of the look. Besides the 9060, the iconic 2002R silhouette’s latest iteration is introduced in a ‘Eclipse/Castlerock’ colorway. First introduced in 2002, the latest 2002 sneaker takes on a mesh upper with additional leather and suede overlays for added dimension. Oversized New Balance branding is seen at the sides, with additional branding making an appearance at the tongue, side, and insoles. The ACTEVA LITE midsole combined with the signature ABZORB heel cushioning provides optimal comfort with each step, making it a must-have sneaker. The design is finished with a rubber outsole that supports the rest of the look.
